Since beginning in 1992, Springboard has been committed to supporting the positive development of people, communities and society within a local and global platform through building capacity, mutual understanding and peace.
With a Board reflecting grassroots experience and a staff imbued with a person centred approach, we have achieved high quality standards that are driven by a determination to constantly learn. We have also amassed unique expertise in developing innovative approaches, participant development and building local and international networks. .
But perhaps what sets us apart is our cultural spirit that continues to shape Springboard as we move through the years. A cultural spirit arising from a synergy of our ethos and values that remains a touchstone in what we do, why we do it and how we act.
Ethos
We believe in the potential of each and every individual and recognise his or her capacity to play a valuable role in society.
We believe in a two way learning process, where the relationship is one of mutuality and partnership, with the learner becoming actively engaged and owning their own development and achievement.
We believe in building relationships based on mutual respect, not on status distinctions, where both partners live up to their responsibilities during participation.
Values
- A person centred ethos that responds positively to individual needs and is geared to positive outcomes.
- A community based empowerment approach responsive to needs, potential and ‘dynamic’ within our communities and society.
- An open style geared to promoting an appreciation of diversity.
- A quality driven and flexible approach, monitored continually to take account of learning.
- An innovatory and proactive approach to meet changing needs, circumstance.
It is this cultural spirit that forms the life-blood of the organisation and upon which all decisions and actions are governed.
Strategic Objectives
